Bangalore - All India Strike By Trade Unions Will Make Loss Of 18000 Crores To Economy - Assocham. All India strike by trade unions is effecting Trade, Transport and few manufacturing agencies in Kerala, Karnataka, Haryana and Uttarpradesh along with other states of country. This ASSOCHAM, Associated Chambers Of Commerce and Industry made one assesment regarding this major bharat bandh.
This strike will effect Transport, Manfacturing and Other services which will loss up to 16000 - 18000 Crores for the economy.
“Trade, transport and hotels form a major part of the country’s Gross Domestic Product . The other major component to the GDP and GVA is the entire package of financial services including banking. Both these key segments have been crippled by the strike”, ASSOCHAM Secretary General Mr D S Rawat said.
He said, the best course for the trade unions should have been to sit across the negotiating table with the government to reach a middle ground. “The industry is not against fair wages and a decent living standard for the workforce. But the demand for minimum wages should be balanced enough not to lead to a high cost economy”.
